Welcome to the inaugural edition of CPC Source, South West
LHIN region. This e-newsletter offers timely updates, web links
and information that will help you recruit and retain the health-care
professionals you need. Please contact me if you require
assistance developing best practices or recruitment and retention
strategies, determining applicant CPSO eligibility or have
other questions.

• Me for starters…I replaced Laurie Roberts who moved to
  SWOMEN. I bring with me many years’ experience as both
  a physician recruiter and hospital CEO.
• The Wave 5 application process for 30 new Family Health Teams
  is now being issued. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on June 25.
  The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has resource documents
  to assist with your application.
• The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has announced two
  new initiatives:
• HealthForceOntario Northern and Rural Recruitment and
  Retention Initiative (HFO N3R)
• HealthForceOntario Return of Service Program
  (HFO ROS)
• Looking for summer locums? Post your opportunities on
  HFOJobs. Don’t forget, we can do the posting for you.
• Practice Ontario is a new dedicated job search service, created by
  HFO MRA, for postgraduate medical residents. PracticeOntario @
  U of T is the first medical school to launch this service.

• HFO MRA’s Rural Family Medicine Locum Program and
  Emergency Department Coverage Demonstration Project are
  providing valuable coverage to a number of our communities.
• I want to welcome Peggy Zeppieri, the new Physician Recruiter
  in Kincardine/Saugeen Shores. I will be working in partnership
  with Peggy to address her areas of need.
• Bob Heisz, President of the Brocton and Area Family Health
  Team,is pleased to announce the FHT is accepting patients through
  Health Care Connect for their clinics in Paisley, Mildmay, Durham,
  Chesley in addition to a clinic being built in Walkerton.
